Changelog
Claimek keeps changing. Chrome updates the extension for you, so you do not need to do anything. This page says what changed and when, including the times we got something wrong and fixed it.
Version 0.1.2
- One card per claim. When a video's title and its captions said the same thing in slightly different words, Claimek could show two cards for one claim and count it twice. It now shows one.
Version 0.1.1
- Videos without captions now say so. Claimek used to ask you to turn captions on even when the video had none to turn on, which made it look broken on videos it can never check.
- Clearer message when checking is paused. If checks stop for a while, the panel now says so plainly instead of leaving you guessing whether the extension still works.
Version 0.1.0
- Reads the captions of the YouTube video you are watching and flags claims that are false or misleading, while the video plays.
- Checks the video title as soon as the page opens, and marks flags that came from the title.
- Links the fact check when a fact-checking group has already rated the claim, and labels an automated assessment as automated.
- Flags individual claims, never whole videos or the people in them.
Think a flag is wrong?
Please tell us. Send the video link and what the flag said to lugene12@gmail.com. We read every report, correct or remove flags that turn out to be wrong, and clear the saved result so the same mistake is not repeated for other viewers.
