Terms of Service
1. Agreement
These Terms cover your use of the Claimek browser extension and the service behind it, run by Lugene G. Luistro ("Claimek", "we"). By installing or using Claimek you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, please remove the extension.
2. What Claimek is — and is not
Claimek is a helper, not a judge. It is not a fact-checking organisation and does not publish fact-checks of its own. It does two things: it passes on ratings published by fact-checking groups, naming the group and linking to their article, and where no group has covered a claim, it shows an automated assessment of how likely the claim is to be inaccurate.
Claimek flags claims, not people. A flag is about a statement that appeared in a caption. It is not a statement about the person who said it, the channel that published it, or their honesty or motives.
If Claimek does not flag a claim, that does not mean it is true. Claimek can miss claims, read captions wrongly, or be down.
If a flag is wrong, tell us. Every flag carries a "Report this flag" link. We review reports, correct or remove flags we find to be wrong, and clear the saved result so the mistake is not repeated. You can also write to us at the address in section 12.
3. License
You may use Claimek for your own personal viewing, free of charge. You may not sell it, rent it, or pass this permission to someone else, and we can withdraw it. The Claimek name, logo, and software stay ours.
4. Acceptable use
- Do not overload or attack the service, and do not try to get around the check limits.
- Do not use what Claimek shows to harass, insult, or go after any person, channel, or creator.
- Do not copy, resell, or republish our results in bulk or as your own service.
- Do not take the service apart to copy how it works, unless the law allows it.
5. YouTube
YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC. Claimek is an independent tool and is not connected to, endorsed by, or sponsored by Google, YouTube, or any fact-checking organization whose ratings appear in the product. Your use of YouTube is still covered by YouTube's own terms.
6. Availability
Claimek is free, and we may limit, change, pause, or stop it at any time. Checking also depends on an outside AI provider and Google Fact Check Tools that we do not control, so it can stop working for reasons on their side.
7. No guarantees
Claimek is given to you as it is, with no promise that it will be correct, always available, or right for any particular purpose, as far as Philippine law allows.
8. What we are not responsible for
As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for knock-on losses, or for choices you make because of a flag or because a flag did not appear. Nothing here removes responsibility that Philippine law does not let us remove, including for fraud or deliberate wrongdoing.
9. If your use causes a claim against us
If someone brings a claim against us because you misused the service or broke these Terms, you agree to cover our costs.
10. Which law applies
These Terms follow the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute must be brought before the proper courts of Calamba City. This does not take away your consumer rights under the Consumer Act (RA 7394), or your right to bring a privacy complaint to the NPC.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. If you keep using Claimek after a change takes effect, that counts as accepting it. The date at the top shows the latest version.
